Sulfamethoxazole and Trimethoprim Oral Suspension (Antibiotic)
The Sulfonamides are broad-spectrum antimicrobial agents, which include sulfadiazine and sulfisoxazole. Their structure is similar to that of p-aminobenzoic acid. The basis of their antibacterial action is probably their ability to inhibit folic acid synthesis in growing microorganisms. They have been used extensively as antibacterial agents in man and animals because they are relatively nontoxic and effective against many types of pathogenic bacteria, protozoa, fungi, rickettsiae, chlamydiae, and helminths (tapeworms).
Sulfamethoxazole has been reported to be active against most strains of Escherichia coli; Salmonella typhi; Shigella species including Shigella dysenteriae serotypes 1a & 2a; Haemophilus ducreyi; Neisseria gonorrhoeae; Nocardia asteroides; Staphylococcus aureus (including penicillinase-producing strains); Streptococci including Streptococcus pneumoniae groups A & C-NOS/NOV/R6B
SULFADIMETHOXINE.
Sulfadimethoxine is a sulfonamide antibiotic used in the treatment of bacterial infections in cats and dogs. It is also used to treat infections caused by bacteria that are resistant to penicillin, tetracyclines, or cephalosporins. In cats and dogs, it is commonly used for urinary tract infections and skin infections such as wounds, abscesses, ear mites and sarcoptic mange (scabies).
SULFAMETHOXAZOLE AND TRIMETHOPRIM ORAL SUSPENSION (Antibiotic)
Sulfamethoxazole and trimethoprim is an antibiotic containing sulfamethoxazole and trimethoprim. It is used to treat various types of infections caused by bacteria, such as respiratory tract infections (e.g., pneumonia), urinary tract infections, skin infections, and ear infections in dogs and cats. The active ingredients work by preventing bacteria from making proteins they need to grow and multiply.
COMPOSITION: Each mL of Sulphadimidine Sodium Injection contains 100 mg of the active constituent together with potassium dihydrogen phosphate, disodium phosphate dihydrate, sodium chloride and water for injections.

Adjusting the dosage regimen of Trimethoprim-Sulfadiazine should be adjusted to the severity of the infection and the sensitivity of the causative microorganism. The recommended daily dose for each goat is:
- Sulfadimethoxine 40 mg/kg once daily for 7 days or 2) Sulfadimethoxine 40 mg/kg once daily for 5 days with one injection of trimethoprim-sulfa 30 mg/kg twice weekly until a total of 4 injections have been given
For the best possible health of your goats, we recommend using Sulfadimethoxine 40 Injection Dose every six months depending on what your veterinarian suggests.
