Gas Engine To Electric Motor Conversion Chart

Many of our customers choose to convert their gas engines to electric motors for environmental, cost, and maintenance reasons. However, the first question that we get from our customers is always: “Will you be able to convert my model?” We understand their concern. There are a lot of different manufacturers out there with a whole bunch of different models. Luckily for you, though, we’ve been converting gas engines to electric motors since 2008, so we know what works and what doesn’t. Plus, because all of our conversion kits are built specifically for your bike or scooter model (and not just some generic kit), we can guarantee that they will fit you perfectly every time!

Briggs and Stratton, Etek, and Honda

Briggs and Stratton, Etek, and Honda are the most popular gas engines that we convert to electric motors at Dillenger. They are all gas engines.

Murray and Simplicity

The Murray/Simplicity combination is a very popular one, as both brands have had a long history of making lawn mowers that are tough and capable of handling all sorts of terrain. The engine in these models will be a 2-cycle gas engine, while the transmission and clutch are single speed. As such, you can expect them to perform well on hilly properties or steep inclines where you might need some extra oomph to keep your lawn looking nice and tidy.

One thing to note with this setup is that not all Murray/Simplicity models use the same type of clutch mechanics; some may use friction discs while others use cams instead. If you want to make sure your mower has the best possible performance when it comes time to start up after letting it sit idle for several weeks at a time, then opt for an option with cams over friction discs since those tend to wear down more quickly over time (especially if they’re used sparingly).
