The “Farmers of Tomorrow” was the theme of the first National FFA Convention, held in Kansas City in November 1930. More than 2,500 delegates attended this convention at the Kansas City Convention Hall and listened to speakers talk about agriculture and farming. They also learned about what it meant to be an FFA member, discussed ideas for improving their chapters, and participated in activities such as a speaking contest and debates.

In addition to these activities, there were some special events for attendees including exhibits featuring new farm equipment, displays by state associations (which are groups made up of local chapters), musical performances by fiddlers from all across America who had come together to play music during this historic event (this was called a concert). This was also when they started using our current color scheme: green shirt with white letters/logo on front left breast pocket; white hat with green stripe around brim; blue jeans; brown belt with buckle depicting four arrows pointing up symbolizing growth through education!
