Chicken Processing Equipment

Chicken Processing Equipment

The poultry processing industry has seen a lot of technological advancements over the last few decades. Modern-day slaughterhouses are efficient and well-equipped to handle massive amounts of birds in a day. The machines used in these facilities ensure that each bird is processed properly, while also ensuring that they can be cleaned quickly. In this post, we will discuss some different types of machinery used in poultry processing plants today – weighing systems, batch weighing systems, weigh pads, live bird unloader etc.

Weighing System

A weighing system is used to weigh the live bird before processing. Weighing systems are also used to weigh the processed chicken after removal of feathers and internal organs.

Batch weighing system

This system is used to weigh the chicken in a batch. It consists of three parts:

  • The weighting system
  • The control unit
  • A scale with a maximum capacity of 500 kg (1,100 lbs)

Weigh Pads

Weigh pads are used for weighing live birds, dead birds and other poultry, as well as animals and meat. Weigh pads can be used to weigh eggs or fish too.

Live bird unloader

The live bird unloader is a machine that removes live birds from cages or crates and places them into an area where they can be slaughtered or processed. It functions by using a conveyor belt, which moves chickens along the production line at a specific speed so that workers can efficiently process them. This equipment will generally have features such as a safety interlock switch to prevent the machine from operating when the door is open; this prevents injury to workers who may accidentally come in contact with machinery while they are working near it.

The live bird unloader should be installed so that there is enough room for workers to access its controls and move around safely while they’re operating it. It should also be positioned so as not pose any threat of injury if someone were to get too close—for example, if you were designing one for use on a farm with large animals roaming around outside of your facility, such as horses or cows (not recommended).

The unloader must always be operated by trained staff following all safety procedures outlined in your company’s manual for operating this type of equipment; failure to follow these directions may result in serious injury or death! When taking care of maintenance tasks yourself make sure you always check whether there’s anything wrong before proceeding–you don’t want any surprises later down the road when things start breaking down unexpectedly due having overlooked something small like cleaning out dust buildup inside otherwise good-looking pipes.”

Catching pen

A catching pen is a small enclosure where chickens are placed after they’ve been caught. They must be kept in a safe, clean and sanitary place that’s also suitable for processing them.

Loader in tunnel

A loader is a machine used to lift and load a product into a trailer or truck. It can also be used for loading and unloading of material. There are two types: electric or hydraulic.

Electric loaders are usually smaller than the hydraulic ones, but they’re more common because they’re cheaper and easier to use. They often run on batteries so you don’t have to worry about finding an outlet or plugging them in when they run out of juice at the wrong moment! Since they’re battery-powered, these types tend not to be able to lift heavier items like hay bales—they’re more suited for lighter loads like boxes or crates full of apples from trees around your house; however there are exceptions such as this one which can lift up to 1500 lbs (680 kg)!

Live bird Shackling conveyor

Live bird shackling conveyor systems are used to move live chickens from their transport cages onto shackle and conveyor equipment. These systems allow the operator to properly secure each chicken leg before moving them onto the next step of processing. They can be moved manually or automatically, depending on the operation needs of your processing facility.

Shackler system

A shackler system is a device that holds live birds in place during transportation and slaughter. This might be done to restrain or hold the birds in place when they are being loaded onto carts, trucks, or trains. They may also be used to hold live chickens while they are being processed on the farm or at an abattoir (slaughterhouse).

Bird Processing equipment

Processing equipment for chicken is used to process the bird into parts, such as the legs, wings and breast. Chicken processing equipment includes a plucker that removes feathers from raw birds. The next step in chicken processing is evisceration: removing internal organs while leaving the skin intact. After plucking and evisceration, you’ll need to cut up your chickens into parts before freezing or canning them.

Chicken processing equipment can be used to process other poultry species too!

In short, there are many types of poultry processing equipment available on the market today. The key is to find an expert who can guide you through the process of choosing the right equipment for your needs.
