American International Harvester Company

The American International Harvester Company was a manufacturer of agricultural machinery, construction equipment, trucks, and other heavy equipment. It was based in Chicago, Illinois.

In 1902 the firm became known as the American International Corporation when its new owners acquired the rights to use the International brand name for its products. This was done to capitalize on prestige associated with this well-known name at that time. In 1920 it changed its name again to International Harvester Company.[1]

The Massey Ferguson Company

The Massey Ferguson Company was founded in 1847 by Daniel Massey. It’s best known for manufacturing tractors and farm equipment, but it also makes other products including lawn mowers, snow throwers and golf carts.

The company is headquartered in Toronto, Canada.

Kubota Corporation is a Japanese manufacturer of heavy equipment, engines, and industrial robots. The company was founded in Osaka, Japan in 1878 as a manufacturer of hand-operated pump. Kubota has been ranked in the Forbes Global 2000 list every year since 2012 and currently holds the number 895 spot.

In 1960s and 1970s, Kubota developed its first tractors suitable for rice farming (e.g., KX-60) which marked their entry into the agricultural industry. Founded in 1868 as the Hamilton Steel Wagon Company by Peter Hamilton to manufacture horse-drawn farm wagons, it soon after began producing steam engines and then gasoline engines for its own use before making its first tractor in 1926. In 1928 they changed their name to Cockshutt Farm Equipment Limited after acquiring the Waterloo Gasoline Engine Company of Waterloo, Ontario which was also founded by Mr Hamilton as well as another company he started called Canadian Gas Traction Company which was incorporated on June 22nd 1923 with offices located at 10 Wellington Street West (Hamilton).

Cockshutt’s first tractors were simple open-type models powered by small four cylinder gasoline engines mounted over the rear axle; these models were later replaced by closed-cab models powered by larger six cylinder gasoline engines mounted under the hoods of trucks built specially for that purpose; this truck/tractor combination became known as “the Sixteen Tonner” because its net weight was sixteen tons when fully loaded with only driver aboard!
