Ag Teacher Appreciation Day 2022
Ag Teacher Appreciation Day 2022
The first Saturday in October is National Ag Teacher Appreciation Day. This day was founded by a group of ag teachers and their friends who wanted to recognize and thank the people that help educate America’s children about agriculture and food production. Each year since 2002, this special day has brought together farmers, ranchers, educators and other professionals to honor the work that these individuals do every day.
A Day for Ag Teacher Appreciation
The next time you think about how a farmer’s job is just too hard, just remember Ag Teacher Appreciation Day. It’s not every day that a group of people comes together to celebrate the very important role of ag teachers in our society; this holiday should be respected and celebrated by all.
In many ways, we owe these educators our livelihoods. Without them, there would be no farmers or food for us to enjoy on a daily basis. They are invaluable resources for the agricultural industry and deserve recognition for their hard work and dedication to keeping us fed and healthy!

How to celebrate Ag Teacher Appreciation Day
Celebrating Ag Teacher Appreciation Day is easy! You can do it in a variety of ways. Here are some suggestions:
- Give the teacher a gift. This could be a small token, like flowers or chocolates, or something bigger like a gift card to their favorite store or restaurant.
- Make them dinner if they are the cook at your house. If they’re not the cook at your house, take them out to eat at their favorite restaurant and make sure you thank them for all their hard work throughout the year by paying for everything!
- Write them a personalized note expressing how much you appreciate what they’ve done this year as an Ag Teacher and/or as someone that helps teach students about agriculture and farming practices around the world! Many people find it’s easier than having conversations face-to-face because they don’t really know what else to say other than thank you so writing down everything that comes into mind seems like one way around this problem!
History of Ag Teacher Appreciation
As an ag teacher, you have a special relationship with your students. You are often the first adults they meet in school and the first adults they see every day—you are sometimes even the only adult they see all day. And while that may sound overwhelming, keep in mind that students also trust you with their personal information: their grades, their struggles at home or school, and sometimes even their secrets. It’s important to remember that students look up to ag teachers both as role models and as trusted adults; when it comes time for them to make decisions about college or career paths, they’ll be relying on what you have taught them over the years.
Ag Teacher Appreciation Day is an opportunity for us all to recognize how much we appreciate ag teachers like yourself who dedicate themselves daily to educating future generations of farmers, ranchers and food producers!
